On Motzoei Shabbos Parshas Terumah a beautiful melava malka meeting was held in South Bend Indiana where close to 30 members of the community met with Adopt-a-Kollel National Director Rabbi Yaakov Bernfeld, Eretz Yisrael coordinator, Rabbi Moti Weinberger and Midwest coordinator, Rabbi Such Ehrman who was instrumental in arranging the event and ensuring its success.
Rabbi Bernfeld eloquently explained to the members of the Kehillah led by their Rav, Rav Meir Bulman, what the ideal of Adopt-a-Kollel is and how a shul collectively can make a colossal difference in the lives of kollel yungeleit in Eretz Yisrael who are often learning Torah M’toch hadechak.
The Rav of the kehillah enthusiastically embraced the idea and a number of members of the kehillah excitedly volunteered to serve as Adopt-a-Kollel gabbaim when the shul finalizes its partnership.
