Recently, Rabbi Chaim Heller, met Rav Moshe Weinberger, Rav of the Agudah of Flatbush. Rav Weinberger told him that a few years ago he approached his Rosh Yeshiva, Rav Avrohom Chaim Levin and asked him the following question: What should I do. On the one hand, I would like our shul to make an Adopt-a-Kollel partnership. On the other hand, I would like to establish a Kollel in our shul. Which one should I do? Rav Levin thought and then answered. “You should do both! Adopt-a-Kollel is the call of the hour and it is imperative that your shul joins. On the other hand a Kollel is a very important thing as well….”
Rav Weinberger relates that since establishing the partnership the Shul has sent more than $100,000 to their partner kollel in Eretz Yisrael!
