K’hal Bolochov of Williamsburg, one of Williamsburg’s large and prestigious kehillos will be having the official launch of its partnership in the Adopt-a-Kollel Network this coming Shabbos Parshas Shemos.
Rabbi Yankel Bernfeld, Rav Shulem Rokeach and Rabbi Shmuel Weiss me with the Bolochover Rav, Rav Labin who not only enthusiastically supported the idea but also pledged to do whatever he could to ensure that the partnership will be a successful one.
The addition of K’hal Bolochov is a great breakthrough in the chassidish community for Adopt-a-Kollel. K’hal Bolochov has joined as part of Adopt-a-Kollel’s Zohov Tahor division of Kollelim that in accordance with the opinion of the Satmar Rebbe, do not avail themselves of government money.
The shul has partnered with Kollel Maagalei Tzedek of Beit Shemesh led by Rosh Kollel, Rav Chaim Shmuel Blau. Rav Chaim Shmuel had virtually no connection with the shul, but he came to Williamsburg approximately five weeks ago and met with the Rav, the Rav Hatzair and a number of the baalei batim in the shul and took the time and effort to explain the concept of Adopt-a-Kollel to them. The Rosh Kollel’s perseverance and his belief in the concept of partnership and all of the zechusim that it brings are what was instrumental in securing the partnership.
This past Shabbos, Parshas Vayigash, large posters were hung in the Bais Medrash notifying the tzibbur of the new partnership.
