The Ahi Ezer Congregation of Flatbush, led by Rav Shaul Maslaton, has formed an Adopt-a-Kollel partnership with Kollel Tiferes Yosef of Ashkelon. Kollel Tiferes Yosef is led by its Nasi, Rav Sion Zafrani.
Rav Zafrani visited the shul on Shabbos Parshas Vayeitzei. Rav Zafrani addressed the shul a number of times during the course of the Shabbos. The members were deeply moved and impressed with his powerful delivery and dynamic personality. Sadly, Rav Zafrani was forced to fly back to Eretz Yisroel immediately after Shabbos upon hearing of the tragic passing of his sister in a bus accident.
On Shabbos Parshas Vayishlach, the formal launch of the partnership took place.
