Last week, the yahrtzeit of Rav Yissocher Dov of Belz was marked at the large Belzer Bais Medrash, Bais Yaakov of Belz in Montreal, with a festive yahrtzeit seudah. The seudah was held in conjunction with a first anniversary renewal event for the shul’s Adopt-a-Kollel partnership with Kollel Mishpat al Buryo, a Choshen Mishpat kollel in Eretz Yisroel led by prominent Belzer chossid and dayan, Rav Naftoli Gross.
The guest speaker at the event was Rav Shulem Rokeach, himself a descendent of the Admorim of Belz. A large crowd came to hear Rav Rokeach, share stories and lessons about the Belzer Rebbe.
As a follow up to the event, the shul held a special breakfast on Sunday, 26 Cheshvan/November 4, where previous partners and many new partners signed up for the kehillah’s second year of support.
