This past week a remarkable meeting took place at the home of Rav Zalman Leib Labin, Rov of the Bolochover Bais Medrash of Williamsburg. The shul, one of Williamsburg’s prominent and active shuls has partnered with Kollel Maagalei Tzedek of Beit Shemesh led by Rosh Kollel, Rav Chaim Shmuel Blau. The shul formally launched the partnership, on Shabbos, Parshas Shemos.
At the meeting, Adopt-a-Kollel coordinators, Rabbi Yankel Bernfeld, Rav Shulem Rokeach and Rabbi Shmuel Weiss, spoke to the Rav and a number of the distinguished baalei batim on the chashivus of a partnership and how fortunate both the shul and the Kollel are to be part of it. Rabbi Bernfeld, was deeply moved by the meeting, “I was blown away by their enthusiasm I thought I was coming to encourage them but the truth is that they encouraged me far more than I encouraged them!”
