Rav Yitzchok Steinwurzel, Rav of K’hal Beis Ephraim of Flatbush, was the special guest speaker at a third year Adopt-a-Kollel renewal event held by Bais Medrash Avi Ezri of Boro Park, led by Rav Yisroel Mordechai Glick. The event was held at the home of Adopt-a-Kollel Gabbai, R’ Avi Kappel, on Thursday, 9 Cheshvan/October 18.
The shul has partnered with Kollel Mesivta, led by the well-known posek, Rav Shmuel Eliezer Stern, shlita, a talmid muvhak of HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Wosner, zt”l.
The kehilla asked Rav Steinwurzel to deliver a shiur in addition to words of chizuk. They sat riveted as Rav Steinwurzel gave a masterful Chumash/Rashishiur, erecting an entire edifice explaining how Avrohom Avinu paved the path empowering Klal Yisrael to withstand and even thrive in galus.
In his words of chizuk, Rav Steinwurzel explained that being a true partner with a kollel ensures that the Torah itself will defend its partner and be there on the partner’s behalf when necessary.
A special video presentation about the kollel was also shown highlighting the life in the kollel and the unique role that Beis Medrash Avi Ezri plays in sustaining it.
“Throughout the night, you could see the tremendous pride felt by the members of the shul at their zechus to partner with one of the gedolei haposkim of our time,” said Rabbi Yaakov Bernfeld, Director of Adopt-a-Kollel.
