Rav Avrohom Broide of Kollel Zichron Kelm Leads Yarchei Kallah with Adopted Kehillah

Rav Avrohom Broide is a scion of the famed Alter of Kelm, the progenitor of the Kelmer mussar system that has had a significant impact on Klal Yisroel, especially during the Yamim Noraim season when all seek to improve their bein adam l’Makom and bein adam l’chaveiro conduct.

Over the past five years, Rav Broide has become close with the members of the Agudas Yisroel of Long Island who have adopted his kollel, through the Adopt-a-Kollel initiative. This past Labor Day weekend, Rav Broide led a yarchei kallah of Torah and mussar in the shul. On Thursday evening, August 30, Rav Broide gave a chumash shiur at the shul, recalling many mussar insights on the parsha relevant to the upcoming yom tov of Rosh Hashanah and the Aseres Yemei Teshuva.

On Monday (Labor Day), the shul gathered for Shacharis and breakfast. After breakfast, they held a learning seder, preparing the material upon which Rav Broide’s shiur would be held. After the seder, Rav Broide delivered a shiur. The yarchei kallah is but one example of how a fruitful learning relationship develops on the two-way street of Torah and chessed that is exhibited between kehillah and kollel in a successful partnership.
